And the shoes..not indigenous to Hawaii,but maybe not unsual for Helen Canfield Chicago socialite and Marshalls second wife. The photos are important in the sense that they explain the going to Chicago and the immediate acceptance by the hard left, if his father is Frank Marshall Davis, not just his mentor.
I actually can see the shoes belonging to Helen Canfield Davis but I can see her loaning them to Ann a young girl just starting to date. In most pictures we see of Ann she was more the sandals/burkenstock gal. Her friends in WA mentioned she wasn’t one to wear the same thing they wore.(ie twin sweater set) and they also mentioned she didn’t date. Sr would have been her first (in more ways than one!)
