Good question. IMO I have seen no real evidence THEY were 'obsessed' - at the time of his birth.
Any 'obsession' has been shown to be from the obama camp. The dubious CoLB on the fightthesmears website - the 'birth announcement' in the Sunday Advertiser is all that we have seen to date, attempting to substantiate obama's birth in the US.
The birth announcement may just be a red herring, attempting to validate the details on the forged CoLB. Until we see the original on the full page from a valid source, it's an open question. The address on the birth announcement doesn't relate to the family - I'm inclined to see it as a plant.
There is only one time, one time only, when in the disfunctional history of that family, it would have been imperative to confer US citizenship upon the children. That was when Stanley Ann decided to leave Soetoro. As a muslim, the children belong to the male parent. Notice that the mother wasn't mentioned on the school registration for obama. Stanley Ann would have lost custody of both children to Soetoro, unless she protected them with US citizenship.
That's a good moment to be 'obessional' - Stanley Ann and/or her parents (or her attorney!) may have FILED details of both children's 'births' as US citizens at that time, to protect custody. Had Soetoro attempted to reclaim them, he would have been kidnapping US citizens.
I say this because there have been numerous instances in Australia where Indonesian men have taken children from their mothers - who never saw them again, and the Australian government was helpless in assisting the mothers to retrieve them.
I still see the FILED CoLB as a provisional document, FILED as in 'we will put this information on file' and you can come back later and provide the information needed to complete the birth registration officially.
There may be a connection in the dates between when the FILED Colb was applied for and the commencement of Divorce Proceedings...both could be connected to retaining custody. And just as the divorce was never finalized, neither was the issue of an ACCEPTED certificate of live birth.
Think about it. As her attorney, when Stanley Ann instituted divorce proceedings, would you not recommend to her that she should protect custody of her children? ...and do all you could to help her achieve this?
Still tells us nothing about the circumstances of his birth, but goes along way toward explaining how Maya ended up with two birthdays...and why the name of the candidate is Barry Soetoro.
I have always thought the August 8, 1961 filing date probably implies some underlying factual disclosure. Maybe in part because had I been Stanley Ann's counsel, I would have figured out how to do something like that then.
But maybe it was not citizenship--maybe it was protecting the mother's rights as against the Muslim father--maybe Obama Sr. was the threat.
I suppose you assume that the father knew he was born in Kenya. Someone, probably in his family, made a birth filing in Mombasa.
By the time of the daughter and the second divorce, the certificate filings for Obama Jr. were of less significance as far as the birth location filing was concerned. His Indonesian citizenship may be a problem for them.
But you don't really know what the motivation was until you see the actual filings.
Also don’t forget Stanley Ann had perfect access when she worked at the U.S. Embassy. American employees would know how to navigate the system. Makes me just as curious to know exactly what duties Madelyn Dunham performed in the circuit courts after she retired from Bank of Hawaii in 1986. Interesting that she also volunteered at libraries.
I agree. I can see this happening about the time she was marrying or divorcing Soetoro, so any records hanky panky probably took place then. But who knows?
