I know, he was from the wrong side of the tracks and her parents didn’t approve of him so when they got married they kept it a secret until she graduated later in May of 1940. Stanley Armour Dunham was described by his daughter as “unstable and with an often violent temper...” who also had “crude ham-fisted manners...” and a “desire to obliterate the past...” . He reminds me of a Walter Mitty type with big dreams but few options but it surprises me that he would willingly accept his 17 y o daughter turning up pregnant and do nothing about it which is why I always thought that they sent her away when she was pregnant! I saw that article...and wondered how he would assume he had the power to do such a thing, getting someone's daughter pregnant is hardly an offense that would warrant being removed from Hawaii. However, if Stanley Dunham was one of his sponsors, he would certainly feel his friendship had been abused. (Which it was.) Obama snr would have been welcome in the Dunham home and her pregnancy would have been a real shock to him.
It's a 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' moment. (Not with my daughter you don't!)
And yes, I can see him sending her as far away as possible...his hypocrisy had been exposed.
