And if any of them has US Passports and get elected to Congress that would be quite the story!

That’s why the fact that Obama has had a passport for many years has some relevance. His acquisition of a passport was a prior vetting process that vouches for his citizenship.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised to find that there are illegal alien holders of elected offices in California.

Senator is a pretty high bar, though.

I don’t have as much confidence in the vetting process, especially the one in effect 20+ years ago, as you do.

Especially since I actually have read the State Department’s requirements. You don’t even need a birth certificate to get a passport.
