Looks like Obama Sr. planned a trip back to Kenya in 1961.

Why would Stanley Ann be excited about her husband returning to Kenya if she wasn’t going too? She visited her classmate Susan Blake with a then new born BHO.

*Susan Blake, another high-school classmate, said that during a brief visit in 1961, Dunham was excited about her husband’s plans to return to Kenya.

A side note: Dunham supposedly returned to Seattle in 1962 to live there for awhile.

*The marriage was brief. By 1962, Dunham had returned to Seattle as a single mother, enrolling in the UW for spring quarter and living in an apartment on Capitol Hill. But friends said she got overwhelmed and returned to her family in Hawaii, and formally divorced Obama Sr. in 1964.

But many are now saying BHO Sr and Stanley were never married which means they were never divorced. Some also think Stanley was sent to a home for un-wed mothers, very common in that day, in either Canada or Seattle area. Which is why it would make sense for her to be placed in Mercer Island a few weeks after Obama’s birth, per Stanley's high school friend Susan Blake.

Very doubtful that Stanley had the baby and within a few weeks got on a several hour plane ride with a newborn infant, when she didn't even know how to change a diaper per her visit with Susan Blake. Maybe nuns or whoever were in charge of the un-wed mother's home were helping her and she took a day trip to see her friend.

She then enrolled in college again at UW for Spring, 1962. Maybe she left HI in the Spring of 1961 and stopped seeing BHO Sr because he was still taking classes in HI. Most of the HI college friends said Stanley stopped coming to their weekend coffee get togethers. Wonder if Stanley ever thought of giving BHO up for adoption, but then changed her mind.

Maybe she did plan to put Barry up for adoption but her mother and father took him instead. 1961 was not a good year for African-American babies who needed adoption.

Frankly if I had a daughter showing up with stray kids I think I'd make every effort to keep them in the family.

What you might find in those records in Hawaii is some indication that he was adopted.

Yes, that whole scenario about travelling to Mercer Island within the month of August, 1961 was strange. Supposedly she was to join her husband in Boston. But, I thought he was still studying in Hawaii until the summer of 62.

Re. the point that she returned to Seattle in 1962, then enrolled in University of Washington for the spring quarter.....do you think they mean she enrolled in spring of 1962, or the spring quarter of the 62 school year which would make it spring, 1963?
