Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro is (was)the mother of President hopeful and Senator Barack Obama. Born in 1942 in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Stanley Ann Dunham attended the University of Hawaii in the late 1950's. It was during her study in UH that Ann Dunham met Barack Obama's father Kenyan student Barack Obama Sr. and got engaged, (became pregant)and later married (maybe, he was already married with children in Kenya)at an age of 18 in 1960. Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. divorced in 1965, (do bigamists get a divorce?)when he left for Harvard University to continue his education.(Obama Snr commenced Harvard in 1962) In 1967 (I THINK IT WAS 1968)when Barack Obama was 3 years old (he was SEVEN)

Obama's book and his campaign have both claimed that Obama was approximately 2 years old when his father abandoned the family. This claim is not true. Obama Sr. graduated from the University of Hawaii in June, 1962. He entered Harvard that fall. He deserted young Obama when Obama Jr. was barely 1 year old. Neil Abercrombie said of Barack Sr., "I know he loved Ann," but "I think he didn't want the impediment of being responsible for a family. He expected great things of himself and he was going off to achieve them." This is the guy who Obama romanticized in his first book, writing, "It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself..." -- some role model -- Obama Sr. selfishly abandoned his family. Anna will file for divorce in 1964 and remarry two years later, when her son was 5.
