This was the article I had intended to post regarding Root which was originally written in 2007 and gives a little bit of background as to how he made his money.(took a little while to find it)

I do however have a copy of MY HS transcript. Satisfied the US Navy for enlistment, but I don't boast about my grades... nothing to boast about beyond stating my last name isn't or never has been "TOOT". :)
obviously, when he wrote that in 2007 he wasn't yet aware that no one from Columbia remembered knowing obama in person. Since that time, apparently FOX traced 400 graduates who attended the college during the same period, and NOT ONE remembers obama.
Root sold Amway whilst in college. I can identify with what he writes about the responsibilities of small business. He's very real, pragmatic.

And from all I have read thus far, isn’t it amazing that “Newsweek” and “The Chicago Tribune” both quote a William Araiza as remembering him at Columbia? (ref post#5656) and this article in the Trib.

There is a slight discrepancy between the two articles though. The Trib has Araiza taking an International Politics class with Obama, while the Newsweek article has the two attending a political science seminar. There is quite a difference between a class and a seminar IMO.

So even before he transferred to Columbia, someone was a wake-up to him? Mark Dery had good instincts.

Three other points, in your post above Obama admits using illicit drugs while he was in college which blasts away his saying he quit using drugs by college.
Also he had said he doesn’t like ice cream after working at Baskin Robbins during his Punahou years and yet what did he eat the weekend after the Dem convention but ice cream with his running mate for a photo op. Anything for a photo op!
Finally in his book he mentioned how some tourists in Hawaii wanted their picture taken with him as his grandfather had told the tourists he was the great grandson of King Kamehameha, and even before that he had spread the rumor at Punahou shortly after starting there that his father was an African prince. How much do you want to bet he started the rumor at Occidental that he was a Hawaiian prince?

Is it just a coincidence that Obama and Ayers were on the Columbia campus together? Did they meet and make their initial contact at that time? Had Obama been turned on to Ayers by Frank Marshall Davis? Was there a Khalid Al-Mansour and William Ayers connection during this early period. Questions, questions. But no answers from Mr. Obama.
Did Ayers point Obama in the direction of Chicago as a place to hone Obama’s “organizing” skills?
Based on the research we’ve done, I believe that Martin’s questions are reasonable. He has drafted a timeline:

I arrived in the Columbia area to study theology at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine shortly after Obama had left, so I know the neighborhood well. I have gone back to retrace were he might have been. No luck. No footprints, either.
What has Obama’s past behavior over the past four years taught me? When Obama is hiding something he is hiding something.
My web search turned up both Wayne Allyn Root and Wayne Allen Root, and both spellings are used for the VP candidate. Given the context, I think he’s been involved in (legal) oddsmaking (for illegal gambling on sports).
Maybe, but the reason I’ve never done it is, I’ve never had the nukes. ;’)

It does not seem possible that a person with so many blank spots in their history, can really expect to be elected as our President, but they do.
The Demwits will nominate and try to elect anyone who comes along with a (D) after their name.
Their biggest mistake was not vetting their candidate and with each new disclosure more of the truth is leaking out about the Manchurian cadidate.
It’s coming together more and more now!

I have not read Obama books. I am one African American (AA) woman who refuses to drink the kool-aid. Twenty years ago I would have jumped blindly on the Obama train solely because he was a black man…

In 1995 Chicago experienced one of the worse heat waves in its history. 739 elderly and poor people lost their lives, the majority of them on the Southside and Westside of Chicago. They died because no one came to their rescue…they slowly died…suffocated behind locked doors and sealed windows, out of contact with friends, family, and neighbors, unassisted by public agencies or community groups ( see Eric Klinenberg Heat Wave: A Social Autopsy of Disaster in Chicago). One of my friends living in Chicago contend that this should not have happened…that all the AA mega churches are air-conditioned and have huge commerical kitchen could have housed those who died. That someone could have appealed to the ministers to open up their churches to house these people during the 5-day heat wave. So, I ponder where was Obama? I mean once an activist always an activist. The activist that I know are always rallying around humanitarian efforts, it is what we do…roll-up our sleeves…wear out the sole of our shoes and get our hands dirty! Why wasn’t he inspired to use his grass-root influence to mobilize folks…big mega-churches to rescue those poor old people.. Perhaps if he saw his future on the horizon in 1995 he would have shown up. Maybe Jesse Jackson and his congressman son should have shown-up. I know the Roseland and Altgeld Garden communities where he worked as an activist...

How do you know Brzezinski was his former Professor at Columbia? The one about his co-workers at BIC was very interesting. So now we have another piece of his puzzle.
Also here is what I believe to be another Obama fairy tale. In his biographical video from the convention he tells a charming tale about a favorite childhood memory—being taken by his grandpa to see some of the astronauts come back, sitting on Grandpa’s shoulder and waving a small American flag. And grandpa said, “Boy, Americans—we can do anything if we put our minds to it!”
I was suspicious about that as soon as I saw it. With the news footage they showed along with this it sounded like they went down to the shore and watched one of the space casules splashdown. There were only two splashdowns in the vicinity of Hawaii—Apollo 15, Aug. 7, 1971, 550 miles north of Honolulu and ASTP-Soyuz, July 24, 1975 and given the coordinates was probably about 275-400 mile from Honolulu. The splashdown they show looks identical to that of Apollo 13 ( http://tomsastroblog.com/?p=1852 ). The next part of his video shows astronauts coming out of a helicopter wearing orange suits which doesn’t match any pictures I can find in any of the photo galleries on the flights and then there’s a tickertape parade. The only reference I can find to any such parades are for Apollo 11 and Apollo 13. There are a couple of photos online for Apollo 11 but I cannot find any for 13. Anyway the video makes it look like he was there to see these things—all the while sitting on Grandpa’s shoulders and waving his little flag. However Apollo 13 did not happen till April 17, 1970 when he was 9 years old (Grandpa would have had to have very strong shoulders to be carrying the chubby Barry that we know him to be then) and still going to school in Indonesia. It’s interesting also to note that a few seconds before this touching biographical vignette
he’s telling us about the values he learned from his mother and his grandparents like “HONESTY”!
I also found this out:
The Lunar Receiving Laboratory (LRL) is a facility at NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (Building 37) that was constructed to quarantine astronauts and material brought back from the Moon during the Apollo program to mitigate the risk of back-contamination. Now just to be fair, the crew of Apollo 13 did go to Honolulu for a ceremony on April 18 but he was still in Indonesia. Apollo 15 having landed fairly close to Hawaii may have also gone there but he was too old for his story, Apollo 16—I haven’t been able to find out, and for Apollo 17, Dec. 19, 1972, I also found an article that said the crew flew to Honolulu and then on to the mainland.
It just all goes into the fairy tale file that we are all so familiar with—a sweet tale to endear him to America but it makes you want to puke when it’s revealed for what it is. If it could in any way be possible for him to have been back in Hawaii (which I don’t believe could have been the case)to see the historic welcome for Apollo 13, then why not identify it as such? Anyone would have remembered that all their life and would have been proud to say they were there. And if it was any other, then it just doesn’t fit the cute mind-picture that he created and so it’s another deception. Barry, Barack, Barack II Dunham, Obama, Soetoro,Obama cannot be believed about ANYTHING that he has to say about himself and the life he has lived.
