Uh, wasn’t Dukakis leading Reagan by as many points as Obama is leading McCain?
And we know what happened to Dukakis and we know why.
IMO Obama has a strong suspicion that the tape exists and that it will be delivered to the American people, so he’s trying to neutralize and trivilialize it by saying stupid stuff like the Republicans are going to try to make folks scared of him. That way, when the tape gets out he can just sit there and say, “I told you they were going to try to make you scared of me.”
The arrogance of all this is that the dislike of him has nothing to do with race but more to do with his arrogance and greed. That’s not racism. He’s just an average ordinary politician who’s playing the game of politics for money and power.
That's going to be a ridiculous contention, as the tapes were apparently being distributed by his former church, according to the story thus far.
Obamma has been doing cleanup on his image, since the speech at the Dem convention. It was sometime after that, that the decision to run was made. One could say it has been the longest presidential campaign since Clinton's, who began his some time in his college days.
However, all that being said, I don't think the tape exists. I don't think Rudy or anyone else with a "R" designation has it, even if it does.
There is no doubt in my mind that Michelle "O" has said this sort of thing, and I believe that she believes it and the he is also on board with the black conspiracy baloney, but he is thus far inoculated against the truth, no matter how bizarre it may be. He is the media's messiah.
The American public has become lame and totally irresponsibly populist by choice and manipulation. They buy into everything and will continue to, until this country no longer exists.
Same thing happened to the Romans, and history always repeats because ONLY the most recent immigrants, within the last 50-80 years, have a understanding of pertinent history, and ONLY because they wanted to learn it and deem it to be of the highest importance .
The old guard provincial American has become the American left wing now, and are systematically destroying what they believe is their America and no one else's. They follow in the footsteps of their European forefathers who nearly lost it all to the Nazis.
This sort of American can be found in both parties wrapped in the flag of ignorance.
It will be some time, if ever, that this trend is reversed, and perhaps far too late.
I predict that at some point in the relatively near future, it will become necessary to ask "New Europe" for help as we devolve into economic chaos.
I am somewhat relieved that I will not be alive to see it, but one thing is certain........America will get exactly what it deserves to get from it's elected leadership in the future, and that is a fact that cannot be refuted.
BTW, I see Pat Buchanan is at it again, trying mightily to destroy Churchill's credibility and the moral justifications for American participation and the defeat of the Nazis during WWII. He epitomizes the point I am trying to make and the fact that the enemy of this Republic is entrenched very deeply and in both parties. He sees that war as the fault of Churchill and somehow a mistake by America. Yet he does it skillfully in a roundabout way that keeps him safe from the labeling as being a Jew hating scumbag.
