I got banned today by Newsvine. Thats an Obama campaign website these days. I took a poster to task for haranguing a USMC wife. She said her husband was in Iraq. This poster started grilling her about whether she agreed with what her husband was doing. My reply sans name calling and foul language got me banned. Screw them..

Clear your cookies and set up another account.

If needed, change your Ethernet MAC address in the network driver area.

Anytime dude.

One of my favorite callnames I used was Cheneyevil45, and the mods even e-mailed me if I was a Republican. I emailed them back ‘hell no, I hate Republicans’.

But they caught on by my 21st or 22nd post.

I didn't think your MAC address headers made it past your router - I think they typically just ban your IP (or rather, that of your cable modem/router/etc.)

That place is a cesspool!

I just finished reading one poster who, on the topic of having legal charges brought against US citizens for holding differentt political thoughts from his own,

And I quote: “If that is Stalin-istic, then I wear that name proudly!”

Just for having DIFFERENT ideas? What in the hell happened to our country? Those people on that site are lunatics! They LOVE your freedom of speech, as long as it agrees with theirs! Otherwise, they want you put on trial!

Another poster said they couldn't wait for the day when all our soldiers and conservative politicians were rounded up and sent to the “World Court” to be tried as “war criminals”.

They truly and deeply HATE this nation, and thereby, themselves. They are insane.

Thanks. I just checked it out and left the following comments on their Lettermnan/McClellan piece.

Roger W. Gardner Says:
It’s amazing. This is my first and last time on this site, but, I can’t leave without at least making some small comments.
In your self-serving and congratulatory attempts at analysis of the Letterman interview of the unfortunate little McClellan, you have spoken about everything but the enemy. Remember the enemy? Well, they remember you.

I truly believe that this thread gives us a perfect demonstration of the liberals single biggest flaw: your inability, or outright refusal to recognize the existence of the enemy. I think that you truly believe that the enemy is a creature of the Bush/Cheney Administration. All of the problems to which you (or your hero, the vacuous Letterman) refer are problems with the Republicans — the enemy never comes up in your conversations. Bush/Cheney are the real problems, not the Islamists, not the terrorists who are determined to destroy us.

The terrorist threat is nothing but an exaggerated Republican ploy, a way for Bush/Cheney to make some more money, to usurp some more of your civil rights and liberties.
We are the real problem. If we can just get rid of the Bush/Cheney criminals then everything will be all right. Right?
Do you have any idea what is going on around you? Do you have any sense at all of the peril this nation is in? that you yourselves are in?

Unfortunately, I think the answer to both of those questions is No.

I know I have wasted my energy typing these comments, but I just had to do it.
Good night and sweet dreams,
Roger G.

There are ways to change the MAC address that your PC shows the world.

Here are a few brief references:

Yes, there are many way to do this. My point is that most people don't show their MAC address to "the world" (or even a valid IP), they show it to their router. When they touch various network sites, they are likely to only be showing the MAC and IP address of their router.

Sure, some pieces of software that you run may also capture your local MAC address, and report it to a remote server (licensing software, for instance). However, I find it amusing how most people are ever so careful to change their MAC address at home, but anybody tracing IP traffic is still going to tie everything back to the router sitting right next to the PC. (Movie downloaders, beware!)

The router MAC address can be changed, too. But there are more directions for that...
