Geez, I use Firefox and Safari. Whether it opens in a new window or new tab is in the settings of the browser. Also whether it's a new window/tab or the same tab has to do with the site.

I changed to Apple a few years ago and now have a mac book, I like it so well I just ordered another one for my wife.

Just relax and you will like it.
