I-5 is stunning in its boredom. The only time it gets interesting is when it crosses the Columbia River.
All of AZ is scenic. You wouldn’t think a desert could be diverse, but AZ is. It’s almosr too pretty to be stuck behind the wheel, but from the air, it just looks dry and burned up. Up close, it’s green and beautiful.
There are places it’s not bad, like southern Oregon and near Shasta. But last year when the church camp was at Mt. Lassen we drove down I-97. This year it’ll be on the CA coast an hour south of Crescent City, so it looks like I-5 again. Unless we camp the OR coast on the way down.
