As a lifelong GOP supporterThis is why he's not happy with Rush....Rush isn't a GOP or nothing guy, he's a conservative, whhich is why he doesn't support McCain or Huckabee.

The author supports the idea of drafting Jeb Bush to run for President as the only way to save the GOP. That right there is a sign of someone who isn't quite "with it", as one might say. Add to that the fact the author apparently needs to have a humor transplant, STAT, and you come up with this silly little tripe.
He says Rush is clearly for Romney? Hooo boy. It scares me that so many clueless people actually vote. Can't we require a civics test and a current events test of some sort before giving people a ballot?

The true McCain policy is first to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and then address the illegal immigrants in the U.S. now in a humane way. Yeah, amnesty.

Talking about disinformation, Rush was reporting a complete lie to all his listeners. I hope all Rush's listeners saw the same debate. McCain said that his first action as President would be to close all the borders with Mexico. The true McCain policy is first to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and then address the illegal immigrants in the U.S. now in a humane way. That seems like a logical plan to take.Bull$hit!
McCain reiterated that his previous plan (amnesty) was a good one, but the people have spoken and want border security first, which he promised to do. The real story, however, is that after securing the border, he still wants amnesty, albeit thru a convoluted definition.

Rush is a great talker. But he is wrong on most of his predictions. I remember in the Dole campaign, he reassured all of his listeners that Dole would surely win. Mike Huckabee is a remarkable guy who has a real shot of restoring faith in the Republican party after scandals and big spending.

I have been a Rush fan for a long time, but over the last couple of weeks I have beeen very disappointed in his attacks on Republicans in the primary. He vowed not to take sides, but after his attacks, it is obvious who he is for. What I don’t understand is how he could cut a guy like Romney so much slack given Romney’s very liberal record in Massachusetts. He also made it apparent he likes Thompson, but that’s like trying to ride a dead horse. Rush has been very “un Rush” the last couple of weeks and I have no idea why.
To: rface
The author has not listened long enough to actually get to know Rush... and does not understand that he is judging McCain on his record, not what he says at a debate. I have voted for him for Senator quite a few times now, but have also written letters telling him he voted the wrong way on many issues too. That said, I do think he heard the American peoples position on immigration and has actually changed his stance on it accordingly.
If it is McCain against Obama or Hitlery... he will have my support, but is going to have to make it to the General on his own.
BTW, interestingly enough, my Mother-in-law (From upstate NY) who has voted Democrat all her life says the same thing to my wife last time they talked, She would vote McCain over anyone the Dems are running, but he is the only Republican she could support.
