It always seems to be bad time to bring it up. When Clinton asked the Republican Congress to back down on the same thing, there was a different set of reasons why it was a terrible time to bring it up. Now, it's just worse.
As for Duncan Hunter's sponsorship, don't forget he's a California congressman, and the Armenian population in California has some clout.
There are many Armenians in CA, especially in the Fresno area.
They are Christian, and many don’t know that they were the first to adopt Christianity as the state religion (in 301), hence the muslims’ antagonism to them.
I don’t know much of the history of it, but one of the quarters of Jerusalem is Armenian. They have much more claim to the Holy Land than any mohammedan.
