Disingenuous much??? I’m betting that most people can see a difference between what you quoted: “Officer, I don’t have to tell you where I’m going.” and what he actually said was: “I don’t wish to discuss my personal life with you Officer”. He was being very polite with the DUI checkpoint thug but apparently they all have hairtriggers unless immediately answered by “Yes Sir, whatever you say sir, shall I sacrifice my first born for you sir, should I grab my ankles sir??? Your memory sucks.

"I’m betting that most people can see a difference"

The words are different, yes. But people will see that they're both smart-mouthed responses to a polite inquiry, designed to provoke a negative response which will be preserved on YouTube.

I don't drive around at 2:30 in the morning anymore, so I rarely encounter these checkpoints, but the few times I have the only thing I've said is 'why am I being pulled over?' and the response, 'just checking registration and inspection stickers', and moved on.

We used to be against random stops and request to 'see your papers please' for no reason. The times they are a changing.
