OMG, ::still laughing:: I wish I could have heard you say that! That wording is priceless!
That’s right sweetie pie... nothing but style and symbolism over substance!!! That’s exactly what we need... yeah, sure!!! (/dripping sarcasm)
Wull heck... You can git purdy articklulate when yer pist!!! (grin)(snort!)
Right on, Wasp, right on.
“Thats right sweetie pie... nothing but style and symbolism over substance!!!”
If I were interested in a candidate who appears to be nothing but style and symbolism, I’d support Mr. Romney.
However, it’s advantageous to find a candidate with substance AND with some style and symbolism, as well.
Which kinda dumps Mr. Hunter on the sidelines.

How's that grab yer supersillyous differential, slitetest? Git back!!!
::giggles::
“Ok, smitetest,...”
Sorry to see that you have nothing left but personal invective.
Should you come by way of an actual argument to make, let me know. ;-)

You have no real idea, do you?!?!?!
You better stay WAY away from this crucial issue with your politics of expediency that suggest we should swarm to the celebrity swooner crowd tromping down to Sodom & Gomorah on the great wide way instead of the righteous conservative straight and narrow!!!
It's obvious to me that you are shilling for Freddie on a paid basis. Go knock on doors in you own community. It'd do more good!!!
Now, I'll just bet you expect me to favor #4 in which case you will exclaim "Aha--gotcha, that's a 'moderate conservative' position because #5 is the only true conservative position".
Nice try at setting the trap, but you are too transparent.
#5 is not the only conservative position, though it may be the most "perfect" conservative position. I would hold that both #4 and #5 are equally conservative positions. #4 is no less conservative because of its very limited and specific exceptions. Those exceptions do not make #4 a "moderate conservative position" (merely a "less than perfect" conservative position) though you will no doubt want to argue otherwise. Your prerogative, but I cannot agree.
“Charisma” to the thinking person, Duncan Hunter certainly possesses.
“Charm” in president? Ronald Reagan came with that bonus, but charm is not what is needed in a president today, though certainly many of us seem to require entertainment by the White House as a motive to vote for a candidate.
“Force of personality”

And for Duncan Hunter, there are many youtube links on this thread that showcase his sincerity, his purposefulness, and his awareness of what is essential to be done to preserve our freedoms.
I invitet you to honestly compare these two men, by what they have to offer and by what they have actually accomplished. I have done that minutely before making my choice for Rep. Duncan Hunter.
In 2007-8 the major battle comes BEFORE the primaries.
:)
I’m staying out of your guys’ stream of consciousness debate. I’ll just watch.
OMG, I forgot! You are one of those who need name recognition rather than accomplishment, flowery presentation rather than keenly focused purpose. Forgive me for addressing your posts. It has apparently been a waste of time.
So if I decide to treate you like I dislike you, is that some kind of arguments eliminator? Who the heck are you to make such a ridiculuously subjective decision? Forget that!!!
To me you're just some newly contracted Thompson media/PR hack, hoping to land a job in what you hope to be a Thompson White House because you think you are backing the raciest horse in just another political horse race!!!
You think you can reach the most maleable conservatives on a site like this and have the most far-reaching effect. I find that approach to your new hope filled position, disgusting!!! (betcha think that's another argument disqualifier, don'tcha?)(just don't take it personally because I hold all others that helped screw up CA's "red-state voting" status using FR with that activity in the same low regard)
Hunter is IMHO UNELECTABLE
I kinda forgot you told me that you two went "way back," but I gotta tell ya... Them stream of consciouness debates are phun!!!
You can get real metaphysical during 'em and fly like an eagle into political expediency land and completely swoon-out over swingin celebrities till the danged cows come home from hearin the chickens call out to 'em!!!
Once you go there, however, I must warn you... You'll then have to spell every word that contains the letter "f" with the letters "ph," instead, like I changed the word "fun," to "phun," above!!!
>>>>the terrorists are in this war to win it. The question is: Are we?
Not if you elect a metro man.
Initial support means just that. I couldn't have jumped ship, because I was never on board the good ship Tancredo and for good reason. Tancredo`s campaign ship is still in the dock. Fact is, Cong Tancredo has raised more money and is sitting higher in some polls then Cong Hunter. If you want to stick with a campaign in dry dock, go for it.
I do agree, its still early in the campaign, but not for the second tier candidates. The campaign time frame for each second tier candidate is being compressed quickly.
I spoke to Tom Tancredo. He's in this race to bring attention to the immigration issue. Even though he's a staunch Reagan conservative, Tancredo is under no illusion. he knows his campaign to garner the nomination is a long shot. And he's not in this race to beome a VP runningmate for anyone. Not that he would turn down such an offer.
>>>>>Incidentally, I would love to see a one on one debate between Rep. Hunter and FDT, should he officially run. That would open a few eyes, I think.
That would be a waste of time. I'm patiently waiting for FredT to enter the race officially. Then we'll see how he fairs. I'd rather see a debate between conservative FredT and the liberal Giuliani. FredT`s already knocked off a significant amount of Rooty`s support. A head to head debate will expose Rooty Toot for the liberal he is and pull down his support even more.
You could give Boomhauer a run for his money. ;o)
We’d spoken about the idea of keeping debates civil. After all, one of these fellows will likely be the nominee, and it doesn’t pay to conduct the contest for the nomination in a way where we insult each other.
