Be sure to read the article too, not just our snide commentary. LOL
If you haven’t noticed, I’m quite fond of the Military, especially the Marines. With Hunter’s child in the Marines there is no way he’s not getting my vote.
Exactly

You could be right. I’m not as certain about the outcome of the next election as you are, though. I certainly won't assert the opposite of what you've said, that Fred Thompson will definitely be President of the United States of America. In my view, I think he's got a good shot at the nomination, and then a good shot at election, but I don't think either is anything near a done deal.
However, you seem quite certain in your view. You willin’ to give me odds on your prediction? There are how many Republicans running? Seven, 10? And how many Democrats?
Tell you what, let’s add up the number of candidates in both parties. If it’s 12, then you give me 11 - 1 odds. If it’s 15, then you give me 14 - 1 odds. And you can determine the wager - $5, $10, $20, whatever. If you win, I’ll donate that amount to Free Republic. If I win, you donate to Free Republic that amount times the odds you gave me.
You're so certain that Fred won’t be president, it's a no-lose situation for you, it should be like taking candy from a baby, and it’s for a worthy cause, too!
How ‘bout it?
;-)

>>>Conservatives is they think for their self. Unlike democrats.
From Boston.com: An e-mail from Mitt Romneys sons suggested that whoever the Republican presidential nominee is will have to raise $100 million. Duncan Hunter said he wouldnt need to raise that kind of money because most of that money goes to pay for consultants that help them look like they are conservative and I am conservative already.”
:)
Really quite enlightening, isn’t it? Thanks. I’m really enjoying the gender identity crisis occurring on this phunny thread!!! If Rush hasn’t seen this one, he’s really missing a knee slapper!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
We get all kinds here. Men, women and everthing in between. ;o)
I need two hands to count how many people I know sent this to Rush. And obviously, people outside of my knowledge must have forwarded this too.
>My initial support went to Tom Tancredo....however, its obvious that Tancredo isn’t getting the traction....<
Perhaps if you and others had stayed with him instead of jumping ship to a maybe candidate, he would have gained momentum. We are still very early in the campaign, and anything could happen.
This election is very crucial to the stability of America.
The man who rings all my bells for president, Duncan Hunter, must win if we are to survive all that is at cost here. The winner of the primaries will make all the difference. I think Tancredo would make a fine VP for President Hunter.
Incidentally, I would love to see a one on one debate between Rep. Hunter and FDT, should he officially run. That would open a few eyes, I think.
You, TheBattman, have clearly "pulled the covers" of our FRiendly FReepers who don't want to WORK for the RIGHT candidate because they're consumed by the self-fulfilling prophecy of FEAR of possibly not winning by a wide margin!!!
Then they come around our committed conservative threads, trying to weaken our resolve to actually strengthen our American leadership with something other than another mediocre moderate RINO CONservative that we're all so blasted SICK OF!!! (I've barfed so much there's nothing left but BILE!!!)
Our job is to snag the folks who are diligently trying to self fullfil the prohecy. Don’t give up. We can save them from themselves.
(I'm sure you are aware of all this, but many are not and want to see it differently, which is unwise, so I repeated it for the record)
The magic of Rush is... "Nothing succeeds like success!""Success has a thousand fathers, but failure is an orphan!" Nothing new here... let's all move along now...
We bees DIE-HARDS!!!
(a little E-Bonics lingo for ya there from the Waspman)
I’ve done enough research to assure me that Hunter is head and shoulders above the rest.
I don’t gamble, and this is certainly not a game.
The facts are that FDT is favored by the Establishment, which is largely globalist because he is one of them. If you are content with what has been going on for the last 17 to 21 years, stay with FDT.
I think the conservative sector of American people have had enough of watching the country go down the tubes. To preserve the middle class, bring back well paying jobs to America. To preserve our freedoms, elect the man who will fight to the death for them. (You will know him because he has been doing it for over 26 years now.)
So it all depends on how many voters have been so thoroughly indoctrinated into collectiveness rather than inspired to individualism. There you have your liberal, and there you have your conservative. In between today just won’t wash any more, because we are down to black and white, DO OR DIE.
“I dont gamble, and this is certainly not a game.”
Where’s your sporting sense? Your sense of fun? And it’s for a good cause!
Or maybe... you’re not quite as certain that Mr. Thompson will never be president?? Nah... couldn’t be.
;-)
“To preserve our freedoms, elect the man who will fight to the death for them. (You will know him because he has been doing it for over 26 years now.)”
He may have been fighting for what you believe for the last 26 years, but it seems that from your perspective, he hasn’t been very successful to date.
Mr. Hunter, in 26 years, hasn’t managed to make much of an impression on folks. In 26 years, he hasn’t been able to become anything close to a household name. Frankly, I follow politics more closely than most folks, and I hadn’t really ever heard of him before he started running for president. He just never made an impression.
As long as Mr. Thompson is running, I don’t think that Mr. Hunter will really have the opportunity to make that much of an impression. Mr. Thompson, I think, is likely ideologically closer to a broader base of the party than is Mr. Hunter. He will be found acceptable by most conservatives of pretty much all stripes, and will even be acceptable to many moderates in the party. As well, he is a better, smoother, more effective communicator, and is more politically savvy than Mr. Hunter. This is demonstrated by the fact that Mr. Thompson went from 0% to over 25% in polls of Republican voters while spending nearly no money and doing little campaigning, and Mr. Hunter is stuck at 1%, 2% on a good day.
Mr. Thompson takes all the oxygen that would be available to Mr. Hunter this election season. Mr. Hunter has very little chance at all at the nomination if Mr. Thompson doesn’t drop out of the race.
Even if Mr. Thompson does drop out of the race, Mr. Hunter’s candidacy is still iffy, at best.
But then, he would be the only alternative.

No such thing. You're either a conservative or you are not.
I'm not interested in letting "moderates" use labels that make them sound "sort of conservative". Ridiculous.
I am very familiar with the advertising weight of the media.
But, at some point, a stand has to be taken. Otherwise, there is no credibility to sell the entertainment with.
Keep it up! You're doin the Lord's work!!!
All these other (bleep) disturbin, moderate lovin, politics of expediency and lazy, path of least resistance Freepers with gender confusion problems trying to confuse the issues, have no idea how to deal with "the straight and narrow" in our "Pilgrim's Progress" toward a better "Shining City on a Hill!!!"
They prefer the MESS we're in in CA, PA and other eastern seaboard states, with the mediocre moderate RINO's!!!
“No such thing. You’re either a conservative or you are not.”
Okay, then. Let’s pick an issue: abortion.
Here are some possible positions on the issue of abortion:
1. Abortion should be legal in all cases up to the point of birth.
2. Abortion should be legal through the first two trimesters of pregnancy.
3. Abortion should be legal through the first trimester of pregnancy.
4. Abortion should be illegal except in cases of rape, incest, and the life of the mother.
5. Abortion should always be illegal - the right to life is paramount over all other rights.
6. Abortion law is not properly the subject of constitutional “rights,” nor of federal interference. It should be decided at the state level.
#1 is clearly the liberal position. Which is the conservative position? What are the positions in between?
For the record, I’m with #5. How about you?
