That's the question Bobby Schindler asked in the case involving Jesse Ramirez, the Arizona man whose case paralleled that of Schindler's sister, Terri Schiavo, until Ramirez woke up. The Arizona Republic reports:

...Bobby Schindler of the Florida-based Terri Schindler Shiavo Foundation placed the blame on a medical establishment quick to dismiss patients with brain injuries.

Schindler is the brother of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman who died in 2005 after a decades-long court battle.

"What is the rush?" he asked. "This is not the first time we've heard of cases like this where doctors want to write off the chance of recovery, and the family, when they're told this, will make a decision to end a person's life.

"In the case of Mr. Ramirez, he'd be dead now."

Why is Jesse alive? His family sought legal intervention with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund:

His siblings and parents refused to give him up for dead, and today, Jesse Ramirez is alive and conscious.

Two weeks ago, he was the center of a family battling over of whether he should live or die.

Now, he can hug and kiss, nod his head, answer yes and no questions, give a thumbs-up sign and sit in a chair.

I watched the utube soon as BB found it and mentioned it. At the time, I was thoroughly sickened, but not surprised as he fit right in with some of the trolls at Pinellas Park, and on these threads and ClownPosse. It is a powerful reminder that these sickos are more than bizarre. They are evil and capable of harm.

I would not have been surprised in the least if he turned up as a member of the same gaggles that had been trying to disrupt us. Libs and other children of the father of lies hate us. These special children, spawns of pure evil hate us all the more, and direct their evil towards harming.

If visitors wonder why we have little truck for trolls when we spot 'em, this is why.

Angelo McClain knows that the sprawling social service agency he just inherited probably can’t stop every single child from being hurt or killed, but he says that’s his goal.

    “We can’t prevent bad things from happening, because they happen,” McClain, 50, said in his first sit-down interview since taking over as Commissioner of the Department of Social Services a month ago.
    But he said he wants to make sure that if a child is hurt, it won’t be because of something he didn’t do. “What makes the public upset is when something bad happens and it looks like we dropped the ball,” McClain said.

DSS also was criticized for missing warning signs before Rebecca Riley, 4, was drugged to death in December, allegedly by her parents.
    This month, DSS was blasted for failing to protect New Bedford tot Jayla Silveira, whose face was disfigured by human bitemarks, allegedly by her mother’s boyfriend.

Bobby Schindler, brother of the late Terri Schiavo, has launched a petition drive to persuade the University of Florida (Gainesville) to rescind its invitation to convicted killer Jack Kevorkian to speak on campus Oct. 11.

“It is unacceptable for the University of Florida to give a platform to Jack Kevorkian, a man who willfully helped take people’s lives, some of whose only ailment was depression, and pay him $50,000 to spread his violent message of ‘mercy killing’ to the students of the University of Florida,” Schindler’s petition states.

What did poor Terri do to any of these people to evoke their hatred? She was as innocent as a child -- and that's just it. Children epitomize God's creation and humanity's hope. Evil reserves its greatest venom for attacking the little ones. Evil mocked Terri's injuries and evil laughed triumphantly at her sickening death.

I was living in Indiana at the time and remember when he first ran for office in my district. He was right on the money from day one. I tried to help his campaigns a little. Young man declared dead, but the next day while the doctors were trying to convince his family to sign off on organ donation, they found out he was he was still alive.

Driver in Johnson Road accident in critical condition

SALISBURY — A young man believed to be dead is clinging to life at Peninsula Regional Medical Center this afternoon, according to a family member.

Ryan Mason 21, of Snow Hill was pronounced dead Monday evening after an automobile crash near Johnson Road, according to the Maryland State Police.

Mason was declared brain dead and left on life support in order for his parents to decide whether his organs would be donated.

At around 2 p.m. today, friends and family members of Mason said there was movement and brain patterns observed.
