"Yet, what is it about deporting them back to their homes that you find so reprehensible?"

They came here to escape something so horrible that they left much of their families behind just like almost all of the people who came to these shores. Would you ever want to be forced to leave America and go back to where your ancestors came from?

That would be a punishment of unimaginable magnitude.

Yes. They did leave their families behind. A not Christian action. They left their families behind to let them suffer and live here in relative paradise.

Instead of staying home and fighting for their own paradise they simply abandon their world and come to ours. I find that sinful.

I don't know. Poland and Germany are a heck of a lot more civilised than mexico.

This thread started by declaring "mexicans are good people". It quickly focused on illegals. Most of whom are decent people but still invaders stealing from the U.S. citizenry.

Let's look at the truth. Not ALL mexicans are good people witness the oligarchy that oppresses the peasantry. Clearly by definition not ALL mexicans are good people. The vast majority are uneducated and downtrodden. They are in that position due to the corrupt govt. that rules mexico more like a monarchy than a democracy. Yet, you continue to attack Americans that don't want an uneducated, unskilled servant class imported for us to take care of. You do. It brings up and interesting question. Why?

What is your motivation for forcing the U.S. taxpayer to support and care for millions of people whose first act towards America is, in effect, a hostile one? These people have invaded our country and yet you honor them. That is beyond my understanding.

It is said that God will those who will help themselves. I believe He meant to help those that would try to raise themselves from poverty and strife not force others to help them. If they are not willing to stand and fight the oppression in their own country why should we reward them for simply leaving?

Your entire "As Christians we should help them" is fine for the Church or private charities but as far as the govt. goes that is not the govt.'s (hence the taxpayers') responsibility.

I feel no inclination or responsibility to help these people. What makes them more deserving than any other people on this planet? Clearly there is a cultural preference being fostered here. Why?

Emphasis mine.

You surely toss around the adjectives with abandon when describing deportation. If it's such an unimaginable punishment, why do so many repeatedly suffer it ? Masochism ?
