That's not what I said. I was just re-stating the article writer's interpretation of things "from Fred Thompson's perspective."
If the writer thinks that Fred Thompson doesn't have much of a work ethic, I wonder how he figures Fred has managed to accomplish what he has accomplished: as a lawyer, as a public official, and as an actor.
Just a side note on what you said about acting skills. Do you know the first time I really noticed the skills acting involves besides delivering one's lines? When my youngest son was a baby, he had terrible colic. My wife and I would take turns trying to comfort him, and many nights I would sit with him in a rocking chair, watching TV with the sound off. It was then that I really noticed facial expressions and how the actors reacted to each other with body language. I realized how that was nearly as important to the performance as the lines and I began to appreciate what skill it takes to do that well.
And that's why I'm not an actor.
Enjoy your popcorn. I have many more posts to deal with. :-)
Not sure why Reagan ran and not sure why Thompson is considering the run, maybe it is because they actually love this country and really want to make it better.
I realize that is a novel idea but it is just a thought.
Can I post those from that link, or do I need to move it to my album? I might have to check that place out. My webshots album is filling up fast.
Please, feel free to check my posting history, I’ve been saying for MONTHS that Fred should run, but that he should wait to announce until the dust has settled and the cannibals have eaten themselves clean for a while.
It is 8 MONTHS - (Yes, I am shouting) - 8 MONTHS until the first primary. All this early announcement momentum grabbing and shifting get in soon so I can book some interviews and people can learn my name junk is just that - junk.
Astounding - the man doesn’t see any point in going door to door in Iowa before the thaw - and that makes him lazy? Senator T is smart enough to know that as soon as he announces he becomes the front runner. And as soon as he becomes the front runner then every media outlet, every Democrat (was that redundant?), and every nutjob moonbat who froths at the mouth for Ron Paul or Pat Buchanan is going to start taking shots at him. Why stand in the firing line for 8 months when you can organize, prepare, and come out swinging for 4 months. The campaign isn;t even in full swing yet and the conservative critics are already trying to toss mud at him. Disgusting.
The advisers say Thompson, who plays District Attorney Arthur Branch on NBC’s “Law & Order,” is researching ways to use technology — including the Web, videoconferences and teleconferences — to harness the enthusiasm for his candidacy among grass-roots bloggers and activists. The campaign also would rely on large events, such as those that have in part supplanted country-store campaigning for some in the Democratic field.”
I find this interesting as it means that he is looking for a way to bypass much of the “Drive by Media”. The “slogging through the snow” routine is mostly for the sake of getting media attention, as you really can not meet a very significant portion of the voters this way. It is obvious that Fred recognizes the fact that the days of the MSM media dominating a campaign are near an end and is looking to pioneer a new approach. The author of this piece is totally missing the picture. Of course, given the fact that he represents another candidate, that is not surprising.
I’ll try to remember to send you the tinypic page so you can snag the html code.

Let me know if you are still having trouble!
If he doesn’t, it would make it look like he agrees with it and is OK with such tactics.
It looks like the GOP establishment is not the only ones threatened by a potential Fred Thompson run.
The guy is spending time thinking, writing, meeting with key people and giving select speeches and media interviews.
Frankly, I think some of the other candidates should spend a little more time thinking and writing about their ideas. That would help them develop more consistent philosophies and solid positions, instead of running around after the latest polled ideas like 6-year-old soccer players.
BUMP!
I meant is it ok to hotlink to those addresses?
I love the “Thompson doesn’t have the fire in the belly, so he shouldn’t run” argument.
I am of the opinion that those who aggressively seek power are almost always unworthy to yield it.
As for the “fire in the belly” argument: There was one man who had no desire to be president. In fact, many wanted to make him king of America, but he would have none of that. He relented and served as president ONLY out of a sense of duty. Nor did he want to serve a second term, but finally relented. He refused to serve a third term and went home, which is where he would have preferred to have been the whole time. This, of course, was George Washington.
Another was so lazy and unserious that he would meet heads of state at the White House dressed in pajamas and bedroom slippers. He also abandoned the practice of delivering the state of the union message - instead he wrote it out and sent it to Congress to be read by someone else. Another crappy president who would not meet areafiftyone’s criteria - Thomas Jefferson.
If those men were alive and running today, it would be amusing to see how they would be savaged and by whom.
Don’t know about hotlinking, it might work or not! I guess go ahead and try!
Exactly.
