Mass Hysteria Through History: Sheryl Crow, Al Gore, Moonbats And Other Examples

Singer Sheryl Crow launched her "Stop Global Warming Tour" in Dallas Texas  this second week of April in her biodiesel bus which willl be stopping at 11 colleges and finishing in D.C. on April 22, Earth Day. She narrowly missed Dallas's first April snowfall since 1938, yet was convinced that the earth has a fever. "I believe the mothership is Earth," Crow said, explaining why she had joined with friend and global warming activist Laurie David to focus on the issue. "Everything else depends on that." Didn't we use to make fun of Louis Farrakhan for saying such things? BTW Laurie David, wife of Hal David - creator of Seinfeld, is riding with Crow and sponsoring the trip. I hate to think that Seinfeld Money will be  causing so many  collegiate minds of mush to divert from real science to the junk science of global warming hysteria.*

 

 

The New York Sun newspaper in 1835 headlined a story called "Celestial Discoveries." According to one article of the series, scientist Sir John Herschel set up his telescope in South Africa's  Cape Town and was aghast at what he witnessed on the surface of the Moon.The scientific community was a bit slow, even then, in identifying this news making science as false.

 

"We counted three parties of these creatures, of twelve, nine and fifteen in each, walking erect towards a small wood... Certainly they were like human beings, for their wings had now disappeared and their attitude in walking was both erect and dignified... About half of the first party had passed beyond our canvas; but of all the others we had perfectly distinct and deliberate view. They averaged four feet in height, were covered, except on the face, with short and glossy copper-colored hair, and had wings composed of a thin membrane, without hair, lying snugly upon their backs from the top of the shoulders to the calves of their legs. The face, which was of a yellowish color, was an improvement upon that of the large orangutan... so much so that but for their long wings they would look as well on a parade ground as some of the old cockney militia. The hair of the head was a darker color than that of the body, closely curled but apparently not woolly, and arranged in two circles over the temples of the forehead. Their feet could only be seen as they were alternately lifted in walking; but from what we could see of them in so transient a view they appeared thin and very protuberant at the heel...We could perceive that their wings possessed great expansion and were similar in structure of those of the bat. . . " Yes, this is the origination of the term MOONBATS  which so appropriately describes global warming paranoids.

In 1979 the movie China Syndrome was released a few weeks before the infamous Three Mile Island nuclear power plant non-meltdown. Add to this the Presidency of Jimmy Carter and the 1986 actual meltdown of the Soviet Chernobyl plant and  ,voila, junk scientists initiated  a thirty-five year old fight against using nuclear power in the United States. Primarily Democrat party nuclear hysteria has hindered the development of cheap nuclear power - all the while discouraging the exploration and use of native natural gas, gasoline, oil and coal. Lately, envirowackos are offering a sort of dispensation for  the use of nuclear power (isn't that funny that esteemed scientists were warning us for thirty years that nuclear power will melt the United States, but the same ones  have recanted and are now pushing for more use of nuke energy?) I wonder if the current tyranny of global warming experts will be reversing direction again, like after they repented  from their predictions of global cooling in the 1940's -1970's?

 

Just as the Puritans started seeing witches when no witches could be found in 1692. Global Warmulists have advanced into a psychotic  dementia which sees evidences of global warming under every rock, behind every bush, and on top of every iceberg. The Warmulists have been having  a real  heydey more recently touting the photograph of the stranded Polar Bears alone on an iceberg, drifting helplessly out to sea. The journalist who actually snapped the picture has been insisting that the "bears were not in danger, and not that far from shore." Public education teachers are circulating these global warming contrivances, along with Al Gore's indefensible movie to students in kindergarten. No wonder the U.S. is looking inferior to even third world countries in math and science achievement. (Heck, we are graduating college students who cannot read)

 

The drive-by media has not mentioned much about this coldest of winters in the United States because it doesn't match their hotplate template. Nor does the media mention the Sea Otters in Alaska which, because of frozen Alaskan sea coasts are forced inland - into the grateful clubs of Inuit hunters. Newfoundland, Canada is having similar frozen coastal problems which are creating havoc for the native seals.

 

Scientists, priests, shamans et al have always served a purpose throughout history. These members of a civilization's intelligentsia can both advance and murder the culture in which they dominate. The Aztecs were an advanced civilization in many respects, but something caused them to evolve into an hysterical nation of cannibals. Their historic origins do not show much evidence of human sacrifice and cannibalism - like the Global Warming Hysterics of today - but some sort of junk science dictated by a shaman scientist of the day thought, "How can we placate our gods and fill our stomachs as the same time? I know, lets kill our brothers and sisters and babies, offer them to the gods, and keep the leavings for our afternoon snack."

 

If anyone thinks that the global warmulists are involved in anything less than a false, cultic religion, then please, read Al Gore's "Earth In The Balance," or any of his best selling books or award winning movies. They obviously have no love for God or humanity, only a desire to see polluters (human beings) cease from existing on earth. Remember the overpopulation hysteria  starting in the 1960's?  Paul Ehrlich wrote the book "Population Bomb" and many scientists  all too seriously believed that by 1985 the earth would be so overgrown with people that famines and drying  oceans would destroy the human race. The Sierra Club and Jacques Cousteau, who thought that we might have to "kill 350,000 people per year"  in order to survive, certainly bought into this junk science soup of the day. Wholesale abortion and the euthanasia was given more credence as a viable alternative to overpopulation thanks to junk science hysterics  such as Paul Ehrlich. And, there have  been too many other science fantasies which have been given "the treatment" by liberal journalists, fashion conscious academics, and the entertainment industry in order  to sink the U.S. economy and make Bush look bad. We have seen how badly the lib/Democrats have wanted to lose wars; losing a country is nothing to them.

 

There are too  many incidences of  mass hysteria in history  to mention here, yet it is a worthwhile study which gives one a perspective so that we be not doomed to repeat history.

 

Another proof of the hysteria is that Art Bell is now a certified GWH (Global Warmulist Hysteric) and should be so stigmatized - like with the Scarlet Letters GWH emblazoned on the forehead - until proper repentance is offered. (The Puritans did have some good ideas for weeding out the sons of Belial). Yes, everyone who has pushed this hysteria on the public should be treated like those who shout "bomb!" on an airplane. Even locking these people in public stocks would not be too great a punishment. Just don't burn them at the stake because any such stake-burnings would have to be reported to the newly created Carbon Tax Center in New York which would like to impose penalties on unfair Americans who's carbon footprint is 5 times that which it should be in comparison to the rest of the world. 

 

*It must be considered hysteria since all the fuss is based on a miniscule amount of temperature change coupled with minimal changes in CO2 "heat trapping gasses," as well as computer modeling which has been fudged to unscientifically verify outcomes which  both gains favor from the international community through decreasing America's GDP, as well as introduces media prestige and grants from the American government and junk scientific community. Its also looks good for caring Democrats.
