It was an innocent comment. A minority here are too quick to bite.

We threaten ‘em with NATO. Send in the French!
To: rhombus
One would think so, wouldn’t they? :)
To: UKrepublican
Not really. The newspaper business is very monolithic in the US. Even the so-called “conservative” dailies are tame.
There are some magazines, though. I’m sure the Nation blamed Bush before he even said anything.

But on the topic, if you guys are so tough, what the hell are you doing releasing cpative iranians for? Not a good development. So far I don't see that we are. What I see is a typical MSM effort to make people think we are, which of course is not the same thing. Are you certain that you haven't been suckered here?

It was an innocent comment. A minority here are too quick to bite. Understood. What is the opinion about how Blair is handling the hostages? Is the public demanding action?

Nolo contendere. Sad, ain't it? Are you pretty confident that you aren't being suckered by the MSM on this "Iranian diplomat released by America" thing?

"what the hell are you doing releasing cpative iranians for?"
Exactly.
Too many make generalizations without thinking. FR has an international audience. We have British, Canadian, Aussie, and French friends who post here, as well as many other countries, because they share our conservative values, regardless of what their (or our) governments do. We need to remember that.

Are you pretty confident that you aren't being suckered by the MSM on this "Iranian diplomat released by America" thing? I'm not confident of anything. Unfortunately for many, reality is what is reported by the MSM.

That's a joke right? Perhaps you missed 1979? Expect the same now. We wouldn't want anyone to not like us, or think we are bullies or anything like that now would we? We are all about winning hearts and minds, please get with the program.

I know the odds are stacked against me, but please, PLEASE LORD, let one of 'em be Joe Kennedy. Heck, as long as I'm praying for a miracle, how's about Ed Asner too.
... and PS Lord, Jane Fonda too.

Abducted, not arrested.
Hostages, not prisoners.

Exactly. Exactly what? UKRepublican states that the US has released Iranian captives. I do not have any reason to conclude this is the case and yes, I have been reading the reports as they come in. So far it sounds like a dishonest leftist propaganda strike to me.

Could be the "Peace Village" group, which specializes in medical work in the Gran Sabana region:

Also the Adventists are active with medicine in the area.
