On demand publishing companies have much higher print fees and $25 is pretty normal for books published through these venues.

Wow, have you been to a doctor lately to check for ulcers? If something simple like this gets you pissed off- well, I just feel for ya.
Sure, it is a vanity and it is miscategorized, but so what.. Life is full of so many challenges, something like this seems akin to a sea monkey in the ocean of life.

Deckwith,
Your mean. Are you illiterate too? That would explain why you wouldn't buy a book for free. But it would confuse those of us who assume you must be able to read to contribute to this forum.
Just checking.

Awww, that was so sweet. Thank you!! I love flowers and sure wish I could grow roses up here. I keep going through the Burpee catalogs just to see pictures of them. Winter in Alaska lasts a long time and I can't wait to garden again. :)

Kinda shooting themselves in the foot, though, with that, as $25 is something I'd expect to pay for a hardcover. And why bother to get a hardcover when you can get a good quality trade paperback for $12-15?

Snow yesterday. Snow tonight. Rabbits are already changing and chasing each other. Freddies' has the seed racks out in some hope and expectation. Nature is saying something, but who knows what.

I've known several people who've been successful with these types of firms, even at a $20-$25 price point. It is pretty difficult to get noticed by the major publishers, so, while these do end up with higher rates, they get people's works attention they may not receive from other venues.
The best thing is to support writers you like while they are new, and if they gain enough attention, may be picked up by one of the major publishers.

I believe I did deal. Have a nice life. BTW, I've read Ayn Rand and she sucks.

And mainly sticking to fiction otherwise the discussion tends toward politicsa iinstead of the craft of writing.
I don't guess you have a proofreader for your FR posts...
just joking! =)

I'd be interested in a writer's thread. Also W3schools online offer free lessons in html. Very simple and helpful.

FR has a lot of writers of all kinds. This might be a fairly decent interest center.

I wish my writer's block wasn't so severe, or I'd have something on the shelf next to yours.
