You missed out in 2000. I just found out there was a song parody contest in December 2000 for the best parody song about the contested election. The prize was $2500. I bet your "Palm Beach Polka" song would have won.

I just remembered that my cousin Arlene used to win all sorts of song parody and song jingle contests. She even won a new car once. I forgot all about that since I haven't even seen Cousin Arlene in years. Also my other Cousin, Jerry, and I used to focus in on her dentist husband, Miles, who for some reason cracked us up by his meekness. In fact, Cousin Arlene originally met Miles (whom we call "Little Miles") because he had trouble swimming once and Cousin Arlene dove from a raft into the water and saved him by bringing him back to shore. Since she towered over Little Miles that was also a source of a lot of mirth.

However, to give Cousin Arlene her due, she did win a whole bunch of song constests (parodies and jingles). Winning that car (Chevy I think) sure did impress me.
