So what's tasteless? My comment or his family's actions.

Your comments. Steve Irwin made millions of dollars while he was alive. If it was about money, his family could just call it quits and live happily ever after on what they have. But his family wants to continue his legacy of protecting animals. You make his family sound like vultures for wanting to follow their dead husband/father's wishes. I just find your comment absolutely repulsive concerning a tragic situation.

Steve Irwin wasn't about saving animals.He was about making money...and that's OK in my book.I was in Australia in January '04 when he took his baby into that alligator pit.In Australia this incident got wall to wall coverage for days.Irwin was constantly appearing on TV trying to explain himself...and he did a pretty poor job of it,IMO.

I don't dislike Irwin.In fact,the opposite is true...he was a personable,entertaining guy.But he was an entertainer,not a "conservationist".
