As the person who posted this I want to clarify that I do not suspect this to be a hoax. It may be. I actually do some specialized work in political communication and I don't see any indications that this is a hoax.
I have also monitored this site for weeks now and this item fits the general demeanor of the site. It is worth noting that at other points in the site members have expressed shock and dismay that Republicans are doing so much better in their GOTV efforts than the democrats.
It is also my experience in academia that in liberal blog sites like this there is a pervasive air of condescension wherein conservative simpletons are viewed as easy prey for the more intellectually sophisticated liberal. This fantasy theme leads participants into contemplations of unethical acts which are necessary for 'victory.' For reasons such as this, I think it is quite plausible that the site was not intended as a hoax.
I have no certainty as to the intentions of individuals operating the site. In any case, I felt it was serious enough for greater public scrutiny to be applied to the site. I am glad this has happened.
