It just occurred to me that these paranoid DUmmies remind me of those kooks who believe in reincarnation, the ones who always tell you they were Napoleon or an adviser to Cleopatra, someone important. Similarly, the DUmmies believe that this giant conspiracy machine gives a rat's ass about how Democrats living in their moms' basements are voting. They have pathetic, angry little lives but they need to elevate themselves to the level of importance so great that a vast political machine is taking down their every word, monitoring their every thought, because they are so potentially dangerous ("Remember, remember, the fifth of November!" and those other childish catchphrases they love) that The Machine must stop them.
What a bunch of fools, pathetic, frightened, losers who need to delude themselves that they are potential superheroes capable of greatness who are being kept down by The Oppressive Republican Overlords. They're so damned mighty they can't get a job and they have to hide out and chirp to each other on DU, biding their time until their superior natures are discovered and praised, without their ever actually achieving something in life worthy of praise. They want to be recognized for their POTENTIAL genius because their no-doubt incredible brilliance is being stifled by Karl Rove, Haliburton and Bush, who are keeping them down.
You hit the nail on the head 100%. Perfect way of saying it.
A well written rant/opinion. I wish every DU dip could read that.
Interesting note on people who believe in reincarnation: people who believe that they were reincarnated have a very, very strong tendency to believe that the person they were reincarnated from was:
1. The same race as them;
2. The same gender as them;
3. Someone famous;
4. In the same profession as them, or in a well-known profession (explorer, etc).
Once people are informed of these common biases, they have a tendency to immediately try to break every one of them.
