ADD is real and the medications offer a crutch while people try to find other coping strategies. It has literally changed peoples lives and for the better.

That may be true.

On the other hand, slapping the label of "ADD" on every young boy in public school that is acting like, well, a young boy, and putting him on Ritalin is not doing the future of this country any favors.

We all agree with that....
The behaviors of a normal inquisative, energetic boy (or girl for that matter) are really good traits. You're learning, exploring, pushing the boundaries and going for more.

The real kids with the real problems live in a zone of total confusion and overload, unlike the other kid who is processing and just going for more to process.
