A lot of problems would be solved if kids got enough exercise. Kids just need to burn it off. Sitting in classrooms all day and then in front of the TV or X-box or whatever isn't going to help.
I think kids need to have plenty of exercise... However, my son plays private club soccer.. 2 hour practices three times a week, he is in taekwondo, and sings in the choir. If we didn't medicate him he still would never sleep. He requires no sleep. Even as a four month old infant he took TWO 20 MINUTE naps a day!!!! It was crazy.
And to the person who thought I called him/her a liar. I apologize. It was not my intention. I just think until people have walked a mile in our shoes, you can't judge.
My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago. When she was put on the meds she became an honor roll child.
This year she decided she didn't want to take the meds. She is failing 3 out of 7 classes. She was playing football (co-ed team), she watches maybe 3 hours of tv per week...the rest of the time she is out playing with friends and doing chores.
Her condition is real...and would not be cured by more exercise. (or as was suggested upthread, by beatings)
