If this guy thinks the Democrats have better immigration and fiscal policies than the Republicans, then he's not a conservative. He's an idiot. And if he doesn't vote Republican, he will only be helping the Democrats. Sorry, folks, that's reality, whether you like it or not. Period. End of story.

Ahh, BS... the fellow said he would be voting Constitutional Party... which is a whole dang more Conservative that all the libs and Pubs mixed in a blender and strained out for conservative truth juice..

Perhaps he would be helping the sorry arse Dims (on the short term surface) at first look, but he would be also returning the future voter power shift back to a more conservative area in future elections. Republicans are not stupid creatures, they know the electorate center to stand, and without extremes to the right being worth courting, there is no reason to stay conservative.

Alabama congressmen have done a fine job of staying to the right of most conservatives in Washington (especially on illegal immigration issues), so I will continue to vote for them.. But when they don't hold the line as they should to defend this nation, I will also vote CP or some other conservative write in person in the same vein. I will be holding the line for conservatism, and that is a good thing.

The worse thing as mentioned by several good Freepers here, is that USSC slots will be needed to filled to avoid the flood of lib judges that make law instead on interperting the Constitution.

But all in all, Pubs do need people to hold the line of what conservatives need to be... otherwise... there isn't a incentive to stay in the right...

BTW... founding father Benjamin Rush understood this very well... I have adopted one of his quotes in honor of him in my tagline.

I personally don't see why so many FReepers have problems with people being true conservatives... sad IMHO...

And I could care less if you want to follow the crowd and scream troll at the top of your lungs because of my stance.

I will continue to vote conservative, now and in the future... never democratic... but not necessarily republican...

Deal with it...

If you have someone more conservative to vote for than the Pubbie that will win then vote for him/her. But you're dead wrong on a few things.

Perhaps he would be helping the sorry arse Dims (on the short term surface) at first look,...

Liberal judges could last for decades.

... but he would be also returning the future voter power shift back to a more conservative area in future elections.

A liberal Congress would oppose any voter reform that undercut their cheating. They would support anything that let illegals vote. They would support whatever let more foreigners in that would vote Dem. They would redraw districts in their own favor. They would make any law they could to hold power.

(Don't think so? Have you seen a lot of integrity and respect for the rule of law and the Constitution amongst Dems lately?)

Republicans are not stupid creatures, they know the electorate center to stand, and without extremes to the right being worth courting, there is no reason to stay conservative.

If the electorate swings to the left you think the Pubbies will move to the right? And you would consider them smart if they did? Do you also think they're not politicians?

Go ahead and vote third party to make a "statement." In ten or twenty years, when the Dems have run the country into the ground, I'm sure everyone will remember your "statement" -- Just like everyone remembers the "statement" made by Greens, which cost Gore the Presidency.

I'm just trying to get you to think about what you are doing. You'll never get an ideal candidate, and maybe you'll never even get anything close. All you can rationally do is choose the lesser of two evils. Now, if the Republicans were "almost as bad" as the Dems, then I'd say go ahead and vote third party. But if you think that is the case, then I think you badly need to educate yourself on the Democrat Party, which is being taken over by radical Leftists. Are you going to stand on the sidelines and let them take over?
