Having heard his show (back in '98 or so WLS in Chicago was his home territory) I can tell you that this fact is all you need to know about DU. Malloy is straight out nuts, and is a crappy talk host to boot.

Yes, they did in fact have a business model. I believe it utilized money and the flushing of a toilet.
I can explain this. Malloy operates on the theory that saying "the flying monkey Right" enough times in a show makes it brilliant radio. The problem is, every time he says "flying monkeys," Err America has to pay L.Frank Baum's descendants a nickel. Mike's show was costing an average of $10,000 per hour on flying monkey royalties alone.
Without that expense, Err America might actually be able to get back on some 250 watt powerhouse somewhere.
Sure, that's why you can sell ads on nip/tuck and Desperate Housewives, because the corporate ad buyers are so deathly afraid of we conservatives. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that people other than the DU membership don't actually listen to malloy's show.

The selective loyalty of the DUmmies fascinates me.
