The more I read about the Islamic-Fascist movements in the US now, the more I am reminded about the little discussed German American Bund movement (Deutsch-Amerikanischer Volksbund)in this country prior to WWII.
Am I mistaken here? or am I just trying to place what is happening to day in a historical context?

To my mind, the comparison is quite good although the religious element is missing. I know my late Father hated the Bund with a passion after having been taken to one picnic in Portland, OR by my Mother's Uncle. He said it was a recruiting tool for America's enemies as dangerous as the Communist Party ever was (1937/38 time frame).
