Sounds good. I'm sure it couldn't have been a military fortification of any sort (just as Stonehenge couldn't possibly be).

It could also be the Freemasons. They've developed time travel - and the cure for AIDS.

The way he adds the thought after more likely explanations suggests to me to be a nod of acknowledgement to someone/some group or a thought spurred by a non archeology reasoning rather than his personnal belief.

Maybe he received access to some site or grant money from someone with such a belief, maybe he is just aware that American tourists with a belief in galactic seeding could visit and make cousin Ashwatthama's/best friend Gregori's new travel tour and hotel chain very successful.

Its hard to say what hes thinking, hes too far away for a mind meld and my cogni-scanner is offline...
