I want to see the list of admitted partisan journalists who sat on the story at Kos' Kommand.
You might be thinking of TROLL dolls. They were the ones with the "big hair"....
Yes, that partisan journalist list would be VERRRRRY interesting.
Frank, your comparison of the Kos followers and the Scamdy group in the manner in which they use language is dead on. The following provides a well-thought-out argument for why they are so similar.
From today proteinwisdom.com,
"I've long been critical of the type of cynical narrative manipulation that seems pervasive [...] on the progressivist left side of the blogosphere (where repetition of debunked memes in the service of a partisan-defined "greater good" is justified by appeals to emotionalism and self congratulatory claims of bravery and patriotism, and is encouraged and policed to the point where apostates are marginalized."
The apostates, or doubters on DU during Andyscam were tombstoned. And the "narrative" of a sick man denied health care in a heartless Amerika, was certainly "cynical manipulation." Andy was happily ensconced on tax-payer supported Medicaid and all his care was paid for by taxpayers through government programs.
Charles Johnson, at LittleGreenFootballs.com. has been a target of Kos. I'm copy/pasting Charles's comments and more analysis from Proteinwisdom.com since they clarify the Left's rationale for distorting language to promote blind faith.
For his part, Charles Johnson sees it this way:
'I cant help noticing how much Moulitsas conspiracy-oriented mindset echoes the anti-rational paranoia of radical Islam. When the New Republic actually criticizes him, and reveals some of the secret Kos Nutroots Knowledge, the only explanation possible is that theyre apostates under the spell of a massive organized conspiracy. And having been cast out of the fold by Mullah Moulitsas, theyre now legitimate targets for revenge.' -CJ at LGF
"The will to power is the tool of totalitarianism. And totalitarianism is totalitarianism even when it calls itself by other names, and constantly asserts its own righteousness and benevolence.
The modern progressive movementwhich is founded upon loyalty to established narratives and which defines its members by that loyaltyhas nearly completed its transformation from a coalition group interested in guiding policy to an identity group, where membership is thought of in ontological terms. Which is why Kos doesnt allow that TNR could be comprised of liberals/progressives who disagree with his tactics and/or strategies; instead, they are now essentially right wingers. Which is to say, they are defined by their Otherness." from Proteinwisdom.com
The KOssacks (and DUmmies) are either intellectually lazy or intellectually dishonest, when they throw this "right wing" label (as they did when describing the "New Republic") at anything they don't like, even if it has nothing to do with politics or ideology.
If the Communist "Daily Worker" newspaper were to run a story critical of this lapse of ethics by the KOssacks, no doubt the KOssacks would be pointing their finger at the "Daily Worker," screaming "right-wing rag, right-wing rag!"
If I were to take a bottle of Heinz ketchup and attach a label for Coors beer onto the bottle, that wouldn't make it Coors beer.
These people are either intellectually lazy or intellectually dishonest, or both.
Or, because in order to stay in the "Party" the psyche must hold two opposing thoughts to be true, which is impossible, so one must commit intellectual suicide.
Suicides don't need to upset themselves with logic, or anything else except loyalty to el jefe.
"Still have yet to see a thing about this in the MSM or any media?"
Another dirty little secret: 95% of the country had never heard of the KOSmiks before this weekend, and (re the Yearly KOS KONvention) who watches CSPAN on weekends, anyway?
That may eventually eat at Sr. Zuniga more than anything else about this - the self-realization he's nothing but a small-time grifter after all, a half-step above Skinner and the DUmmies on the evolutionary scale.
God forbid the gov't decides it is its job to investigate everyone expressing political views on the internet to determine whether they are paid for it or not.
That's somewhere we really don't want to go.
The campaigns, if directly involved, should have to disclose their expenditures, but I see no need to regulate the voices on the internet. One could just as easily make a case for investigating any local newspaper or TV station that accepts political ads questioning whether the ad purchases taint their editorial view.

I'm catching up on my reading DUFunnies, which is why this is a day late. Your comment is very funny, especially the "spunky dame" - what a hoot! I think I have to watch Casablanca tonight!
