It depends what is in that 500lb bomb.

Some bombs contain just a shaped charge for overpressure effects, with less heat and more boom.

If you look at the video, note how limited the blast effect was. Buildings surrounding the target did not go down.

A normal 500 pounder would have messed up most of the block.

Agreed, and a lot has to do with the material structure, location at the time of blast, etc. Far too many variables for someone to simply dismiss as the DUs are doing as being staged.

I've see blasts do really weird things. Blow a house down but only crack the glass in the window.... Totally rearrange a room but leave a picture hanging on the wall....
