I do not advocate any type of open borders, I simply state the obvious, in fact I support the Minuteman project financially. I simply want to know who will you get to do the work the illegals do? Many of the employers cannot afford to pay much more than the minimum wage, so who will they hire? Our kids have no work ethic any more, they would rather cruise the streets listening to music on huge stereos in cars mom and dad paid for than go to work. If you can find someone who will work, they have no pride in what they do. My dad taught me to be the very best at whatever it is I am doing whether it would be a dish washer or a brain surgeon. Until we start solving some of our domestic (read that to be family) issues the immigrant issue will continue to be with us.

Did you not know they are millions of Americans just dying to pick fruit and bus tables in this country, all which would be happy to do it for minimum wage.....

That's true now but only because their competition pays low wages. If their were a real shortage of workers, the wages would rise and more loafers would decide that those jobs are worth doing. Illegals aren't doing the jobs Americans don't want they're pushing wages so low that Americans don't want those jobs. Another way of looking at it is if lawyers were paid $5/hr would Americans want that job?

The market will fill the voids. Nodoby needs to resort to breaking the law, under ANY circumstances.

I am building a house right now. If an illegal comes on my property, I'm telling the contractor to remove him. So far, we have the walls framed, and not a single illegal has been here yet. Yep, only Americans are building my house.

I also own a business. I could hire Mexicans at a fraction of what I pay my American employees, but I refuse to. Guess what- we're doing fine, and God blesses us with excellent contracts.

To hear people like you talk, it's as if Americans aren't capable of doing this. PLease!

Who will you get to do the work the illegals do?

We get the people who have normally done those type of jobs since the USA began: the recently arrived LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who come to America to start their dream.

New immigrants have always started at the bottom and thru hard work and enterprize, they've been able to move up and create a better life for themselves and family.

Furthermore, if we find we need more people to perform menial new immigrant type jobs, then we can slowly raise the levels of people we LEGALLY ALLOW into the US each year.

But this insanity of rewarding those who have blatantly broken our immigration laws is just that: INSANITY, and it will not only lead to balkanization, it will lead American into third-world status as MILLIONS AND MILLIONS more people suddenly stream across the borders so that THEY TOO can get on the illegal gravy train without any penalty or consequence for breaking the law.

Just as in Star Trek, I see immigration as the PRIME DIRECTIVE of all American laws. No other laws will have any meaning whatsoever if we do not first enforce and follow the prime directive, which is that all people who enter the US must be legal.

That must be the beginning of civilization as we know it.

The answer is simple.

Get rid of welfare. Hungry people have an odd habit of finding work.

Ruh roh, you went against the twitch of the nose and everything is solved caucus on FR.

Didn't you know that throwing Farmer Joe in the can for hiring someone to pick oranges on his property will solve everything, you FROBL.
