I did think you were supporting those that did not want to have children. Those who wanted but couldn't have children need no defense. I did not recall your saying that you wanted children.

Well. So you ASSumed that I didn't want children, even though I said nothing of the sort. I did not say I wanted children. I said nothing other than that I did not have children.

Why I do not have children is absolutely nobody's business but mine and my wife's. That is my whole point. This thread began with the incredibly stupid statement that people who did not have children should not have the right to vote.

It did not say that people who didn't WANT children shouldn't have the right to vote. It said merely that people without children shouldn't have the right to vote.

Many people do not have children. For some, it is a choice. Priests and nuns fall into that category, as do single people and some couples. Others cannot have children for various reasons. Still others forgo having children because of hereditary illnesses they do not wish to pass on.

The bottom line on all of these situations is that it is absolutely nobody's business whether any given person has children or does not have children.

On the other hand, some people have children by accident, through stupidity, or to make money. Our welfare rolls are clogged with people who have children just to get a check each month. The more kids, the more money.

Our teenagers have children at what I consider to be an alarming rate. Many have abortions, but lots have children, especially in some inner cities.

So, this last group gets to vote, while a nice middle class couple without children does not. Does that make sense to you? It sure doesn't make sense to me.

This started with a stupid statement. That statement is still stupid. And you still do not know why I am childless. You will never know the answer to that question.
