She was not being honored by Ralph Edwards on THIS IS YOUR LIFE. This was a funeral. Unfortunately, rather than sticking to honoring her life, some ***clowns used it for political theatre.

That comment sums up the bizarre affair so well that I don't see any way it would be improved by anything I could add to it.
