Does the Bible ever say "Thou shalt not lie"?
The commandment in the Ten Commandments (quoted also in the Gospels) is not to bear false witness against someone else. That's a narrower obligation than that of never telling an untruth. If a Nazi had knocked on the door of a Polish peasant's house in 1943 and asked him if he knew where any Jews were hiding, would Goldstein have wanted the peasant to tell the truth regardless of the consequences?

I have a cousin who e-mails me these comments (almost identical to the ones from the DU) nearly every day. I no longer react, hoping she'll stop. They are ALL alike, the looney left. Not an original thought amongst them.
