I too landed in a Southern Baptist Church after years of searching for what I was needing. We read God's word and you will hear the name of Jesus being praised at least 50x during a service. The Church is alive with the spirit of God.

Welcome to FR!
Glad to hear you finally found an already established denomination/church you feel comfortable joining and intend on acting in spiritual communion with.
If you subsequently find yourself "not in actual spiritual communion" with your denomination/church, feel just as free to leave it as you felt free to join.
This is the USA.
You have that right, for now.

Welcome to the delight and purpose of a personal relationship with a personal God through Jesus Christ His Son.

In true faith, man recognizes that He was created by the God of the Bible.

In false religions like the cult of Christian Science, man creates the god he wishes.

Thank you for your posting and Welcome home.

Unitarianism is church-lite.

It's a way to have the comfortable atmoshphere of a church without the nasty business of actually believing in a God...

There was a joke that in most churches, they have the Ten Commandments, but the Unitarians have the Ten Helpful Hints for Better Living.

Welcome to FR

I think the Unitarians have deteriorated over the years, I was interested to learn that the foundation of the "Greek" Fraternity/Sorority system at American colleges is in the Unitarian church. I learned this from my daughter's sorority book.

I once explored the Unitarian church, a little bit. This was in NYC. I decided it wasn't for me, since they made it clear that the person sitting next to me in the pew could be going home to worship their microwave, and that would be OK. They did say, however, that not all Unitarian churches were alike, so I'm sure there are many fine people who are Unitarians.

Glad you've found a spiritual home.
