I know many of us draw quite impatient. We want to see Syria and Iran get smashed up real good. Perhaps as you indicated, air in the way of piloted as well as Navy launched Cruise Missles shall be be used.
But I we cannot rule out ground engagments. Though I am of the firm belief Iraqi leaders want no part of us using their soil as a staging ground, it is almost inevitable if the foreign terrorist continue get into Iraq. More then once we have read reports about Marines popping Syrian military/border patrols, and it is only a matter of time, that things don't esculate at some of the Syrian border areas. My nephew more then once stood on the Iraqi berm at the border and checked out Syrian activities at some of their check points. He said the two berms where quite easy to tranverse in many areas, since they are simply piled up dirt. And surely some Marine SOC and Army SOPs teams have gone across on special missions.
But that is beside the point. It sure would require a lot of air drops to take out most of their military/communication infrastructure. And we have to admit, there is a good chance the POTUS would have to make a case in congress, because to do this is really declaring war on Syria. It is not like one would just target some small towns close to the border that may contain some terrorist holding up. As we exchange dialog over the past six months on the Syrian issue, I guess what I should have stressed is the political part of the deal. How does George approach congress and say hey look guys and gales I got on little thing to ask of you again, I seek your blessing for me to wipe out 30,000 plus Syrian soldiers and all their known facilities with a few week very heavy air attack. Are ya with me guys and gales?
That may be a little problem as you can very well imagine, at this juncture in time with so many half brained assholes on both sides of congress that don't seem to even be able to retain some basic facts concerning Iraq.

Tommorow I ride up to my brothers house to visit my visiting daughter and of course Steve the Marine in 2ND LAR. I will remember when I wrap my arms around him, to say this is also from one of your fellow Marines from FR.
You got may word on that.
