Savage is a putz....he knows his ratings are in the toilet and will stoop to unprecidented levels to get an audience.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped listening to him a while ago. Don't get me wrong. He's frequently insightful and prescient, but I just couldn't stand the NEGATIVITY! It's the same reason I stopped listening to CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the liberal MSM. It's always BITCHING, MOANING, and COMPLAINING about one thing or other, with no SOLUTIONS or positive policy proposals to fix the problems.
I finally figured out that, within 5 minutes of tuning in to Savage, he will tell you:
a. What he's "pissed off" about that day.
b. That we're all going to hell, we're screwed, and there's nothing anybody can do about it.
c. That Rush Limbaugh is a fool and an idiot. He seems to be OBSESSED with Limbaugh. Guess it must be Limbaugh's consistently high ratings. If someone EVER wants to piss Savage off, just mention Rush Limbaugh if you manage to get on the show as a caller. As in "Well, Michael, Rush Limbaugh said..."... Trust me, Savage will cut you off and go on a 5 minute profanity-laced "exorcist" rant about how evil Rush Limbaugh is. It's pretty funny when he does it actually. I don't even think he realizes how ridiculous it is. He makes fun of Hannity too cus Hannity is too "positive" (to his mind naive and a tool of the right), and probably cus Hannity has an attractive wife, something I doubt Savage has.
d. Some meaningless drivel about what he had for lunch or what his stupid little dog did that made him feel (momentarily at least) NOT morose and suicidal. But he quickly recovers and reminds us that destruction is only one suitcase nuke away.
e. Some assinine song(s) from the 50s, followed by senile ramblings about his "ideal" upbringing in New York (living in the same neighborhood as Black People, don'tcha know?)
f. Finally, after 2 or 3 hours of morbid ramiblings that would make Edgar Allen Poe blush, he invites his listeners to tune in tomorrow for some more "psychological nudity."
If you've heard one Savage show, you've pretty much heard it all. Every once in a while, he comes up with something people will pick up on ("compassionate conservativism", and "islamo-fascism" are 2 that come to mind), but then he reminds us CONSTANTLY how every body else is ripping off his ideas and how he's not getting any credit.
A lot of liberal callers call in to his show to "argue" with him and I finally figured out why they listen to him: HE'S JUST AS NEGATIVE, BITTER, AND CYNICAL AS MOST HATE-FILLED LEFTISTS! Now, they make not agree with the points he makes, but his TONE is RIGHT ON for the leftist whack-jobs.
Now, mind you, most other conservative radio guys don't really say anything that's "new" or truly thought-provoking, but Savage has pretty much become a broken record.
