I'm feeling a lot better today.
Doc ordered me to have a full blood battery done at noon. The first results look fine, except for one thing: My white blood cell count is through the roof. 20.6 (that's 20,600) or more than double the high end of the normal range. Considered "critically high"
Doc cussed me out like you wouldn't believe for not getting checked out earlier this week. The details of the test indicate that I am no longer producing new legions of WBCs, so whatever bug had me it seems my immune system has it licked... BUT: She says I could have died from whatever it was, my WBC is so high.
sheesh... I thought it was just a really bad summer flu.
turns out its bacterial, and I'm now on some really strong antibiotics and get to have blood drawn daily for the next little while.
yeesh.
Wow.
You're lucky then. Good thing your immune system kicked in when it did.
Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, wow, KP! At least you know you need antibiotics. Hopefully that will take care of the bug quickly.
