I am amazed that this is so hard to understand. Iraq War 1 was in 1990, Iraq War 2 was in 2003, now are in Iraq War 3, the invasion of the terrorists. Let's be clear, we brought the war to the Iraq as an enforcement of the UN mandates. Question what you will on motivations and intelligence, we went in, and won decisively. Let's assume at that point that Iraq was in a bubble, any remaining resistance was from Saddam loyalists who had the most to lose with the elimination of the tyranny. If that were the case, the country would most likely already be secured, reconstruction more progressed, utilities and oil production at expected levels, death and destruction at a minimum.

Fact is, they want to fight and they want to kill us. They made the strategic move in deciding to fight us in Iraq. Just as they proclaimed that the American blood would run in the streets of Afghanistan, just like they proclaimed that America was a paper tiger that would fold under the pressure of an attack on our soil. It is the latest attempt to defeat us and has little to do with the original reasons we went to Iraq, but has everything to do with the global terror war.
Does nobody else get this? After the President's speech tonight, the discussion was about the invocation of 9/11 and whether he has gone to that well one to many times. About whether this will buy him time on his failed Iraq policy. I am not the brightest bulb in the box, but this one is pretty easy folks. The war we entered into in Iraq is not the same war we are fighting now. Right now it IS about 9/11 and terrorism while we are still trying to rebuild and stabilize from Iraq War 2.
Some Indeed get it. Sadly, some do not.
Yet.
Excellent!
I never thought of it that way bit it makes sense. It seems to me most of the assailants are foreigners (Saudis, Syrians). I may be wrong?
Third Iraq War was my idea as well ......

QUESTION:
Why does our President allow Syria to be a sanctuary for the terrorist who are killing and maiming our brave troops?
Even LBJ and Nixon bombed Cambodia and Laos.
I wouldn't advocate an expansion of the war into Syria or Iran right now
Yeah, that may be the best argument of all. Bring the war to them and spare US soil.
Actually my next target would the Sudan - the primary supporter of terrorism networks throughout the 1990s.
