They're very schizo. Would somebody please explain to me why people enter a thread they have no interest in and complain how boring and stupid everybody in that thread is. Why does it bother them that other people might be interested in something they aren't. We get some of that here too but I've never seen them manage to shut down an entire thread because of it.

We may have our fights around here but, for the most part, it's a great place to be.

Let me try. If you look at the site, most of the people are in Best and Worst of DU. A good portion of these people were banned from DU. The sport is to find a stupid DU post, post it in their forum and make fun of them or curse at them. AndyScam was pulling viewers from the other posts. So a CU'er posts, gets very few comments.. looks at the AdnyScam thread and it pi@@es them off. In a nutshell it's jealousy.

All I can tell you is it is talk above substance there. Some pretty big egos involved. Basically what it boils down to is if you are favored, you are king and can say what you want when you want, if you aren't, you will be browbeat relentlessly from thread to thread with little jabs and insinuations. Really, it isn't worth the discussion for folks here, it really isn't.

Why does it bother them that other people might be interested in something they aren't.

 

I think pretty much it was taking the glory away from some of their more prominent posters. You know the ones who's life long ambition is to stir the chili. They weren't getting the traffic on their other threads. Melissa even stated that the regulars were complaining about the "Scamdy threads". It's called "self appointed important". 

 

I don't think the mods are not used to the traffic. If they eventually get the experience of the amount of members that FR has, they may improve. I signed up as it is a conservative site and I would like to give it a chance, but FR will always be home base.
