You know, besides the apt analogy of present-day DUmmieland with China of 1908, I am starting to notice remarkable similarities with the Leopold-Loeb Case of 1924 (although involving money rather than murder).
When we lived in Puerto Rico, Nathan Leopold actually came to our home. After Leopold left prison he went to the University of Puerto Rico to do research, I think about birds. Anyway, my dad taught a class there and met Leopold and invited him over. However, before Leopold showed up my Dad gave me a quick rundown on who he was and told me he would break every bone in my body if I mentioned the Leopold-Loeb case to Leopold. Um...so why did my Dad even tell me about the case in the first place? DUH!
