OK. I'm going public with this.
Out of the blue yesterday morning, I was called by a person who identified herself as "Beth Ferrari" (sp?). She informed me that Andy's diagnosis had come back and that he was unlikely to survive. She had a scary-sounding name for it. She urged me to avoid any criticism of him "because I'd regret it."
Andy Stephenson's very first post after supposedly hearing this dire report was to urge DUers to investigate my children.
(You heard me.) If you had just received a scary-sounding prognosis and were told you are likely to die, would you gather your family around you and focus on priorities, or would you run over to the Internet and urge people to violate the privacy of someone else's children, who have done NOTHING to you?
This, more than anything else, has convinced me that Andy does not have cancer, and I seriously doubt that he has received any scary prognosis.
By the way, Democratic Underground appears to be sanctioning this use of their message board, and the discussion has now gleefully degenerated into "investigating" my son, to the point that they named the town he lives in, where he works, and his hobbies. Currently they are busy trying to find dirt on our youngest, my husband's son. I suppose they'll go after my grandchildren next?
The "investigate Bev Harris's children" thread has remained up for 8 hours so far.
Andy Stephenson has an 84 year-old mother. You don't see ANYONE posting on the Internet where she lives, or urging that she be investigated. Skinner has family too, and no one is going after them, nor should they.
I find this behavior surprising, even considering the source.
I wasn't going to post this, because I was hoping the thread would be deleted. I am stunned to learn that DU-- after letters from two board members of BBV, and an alert to the mods -- has decided not to delete the thread.
I will therefore notify my children that their privacy is being violated on Democratic Underground, and this is being done with the blessing of the mods, and I will try to help them take the appropriate security measures, given the sensitivity of the story we are working on right now.
That's all I have to say on this matter. Judge for yourself whether this guy deserves to be spared from criticism.

It would be interesting to know how many of each were printed, and how many are still in stock, unsold.
I would believe that his only audience is from the Dummy stockade, and since they are busily giving to DU, BBV and Scamdy they probably don't have a lot to spend on Pitiful books.
There's going to be a third thread soon, in the other place, this part dealing with unanswered questions.
Management there is reasonably trying to keep things focused, short and sweet, but it just gets more and more tangled.
Maybe this third thread will help.
That's just not right. Your children have nothing to do with what you may or may not have done, which I know next to nothing. These people really are scum. Aren't they the ones screaming about suing everybody because they "supposedly" invaded Andy's privacy even though he made himself public.
I hope something can be done about this.
