I've been using the gum. I've been smoking for about 23 years. I'd never tried to quit before and am really kind of shocked it has gone as well as it has. I have gained 10 pounds though :(

I personally didn't like the gum because of the taste - I used the Commit lozenges (mint flavor) and every time I had the urge I would pop one of those. They last longer than the gum too since they're a lozenge. Try the 4mg ones (that's the one's for heavy duty smokers) and run around doing exercise when you get the really bad urge for a smoke.

Lots of coffee as well (if you're a coffee drinker). I found the caffeine + the nicotine in the lozenges worked wonders to quell the urge!
