I'll sacrifice for the team
Nothing so nefarious. Sorry I missed the DUmmie thread. Some folks have PM'd me about it and told me they did sound PISSED OFF. Anyway, the site was supposed to go down at midnight PDT for our re-design. I wasn't up then, a script was supposed to execute (and apparently did) to take the site down.
I hear that the thread got pulled when one of the DUmmies did a whois on the URL, and posted the name and email address of my ISP. I'm sure they'll LOVE hearing from the howling DUmmies.
I forgot to say that I'm sorry you had a total hysterectomy but I'm glad it turned out ok. I was lucky. The doctor managed to remove the tumor/cyst thing without damaging or removing any organs.
Right now at CU the Lurkers outnumber the Members by 13!
Yeah, that's what ticks me off.
The DUmmies have paid no attention, absolutely no attention at all, to the DUmmie FUnnies--to their loss.
If the DUmmies had paid attention to the DUmmie FUnnies to begin with, they would have been spared much embarrassment.
But no.....they paid attention to "Bev Harris" and that other esteemed conservative web-site, dismissing us, the true chroniclers of their idiocy.
I am ready to capture if necessary.
I had a similar experience. All done within 3 weeks from the first doctor visit.
I wonder who her contact was? It's been reported that the boss of a member's husband was the one who pulled strings.

My challenge was that after scoping out the venues that had higher survival rates, we only had a sponsor at Johns Hopkins.
And I learned that we needed the deposit immediately as they have no "track" for uninsured people. They tried to turn me away -- let's say I heard the cock crow three times. I got a reprieve on a Thursday, until Monday.
When I called back on Monday, my contact was out of the office. And she continued to be out of the office for a solid week. So, the next weekend rolled around, and I was shuffled from the doctor to the hospital. And, they very kindly informed me we had to give them everything up front.
Now: I've never done fund raising on this scale before, and believe most of these troubles are my fault. I could have taken the initiative and gotten a statement from the Finance people in Admitting in the first place. And, had I to start over, I would. I just didn't have the imagination to foresee this.
And, because Andy had no insurance, there was no "track" for him. We were disrespected mightily before the Finance people found their own check in their mail room. (Or, before a DUer found it for them.)
After all the fund raising, I spent another 24 hours begging the hospital admins to look for that check.

There is a potential for abuse here. And we need to mind it,
It just sort of kills me to see this amazing thing that DU did be trashed. Because for me, that was at least half the joy.
fwiw,
Beth

You're giving me blue balls and I'm female.
Would I start a new thread, or post in an ongoing thread there? If so, which one?
I've never started a new thread there, so I'm not sure how.
I forgot to say that I'm sorry you had a total hysterectomy
I'm glad your o.k too. Thanks but I didn't care that I had one, I was 45 at the time and didn't need any of the things taken out..LOL
Tell your Phillips 66 customers to gas up their own tanks. BTW, this is a bit OT but I was once at a flea market where a vendor specialized in nothing but Sinclair Oil collectibles. Mainly the Sinclair Dinosaur logo on all sorts of products such as glasses, cups, etc.. And this was shortly before eBay kicked in. If I knew that eBay was coming then I probably would have bought a lot of his Sinclair Oil knick-knacks. He definitely would get more for his stuff on eBay than at a flea market. (Flea market was at the Friendship Indiana musket loading festival for all you Hoosiers out there).
Whatever works.
And the more who can "screen capture," the better.
You know, I thought "Sinclair Oil" was a thing of the past.....that is, until January 1, when all of the Conoco gasoline stations and convenience stores in northeastern Nebraska switched to Sinclair.
Hey! If the DUmmies had paid attention to the DUmmie FUnnies, then they wouldn't be DUmmies and we wouldn't have had all this endless entertainment! Just let them be.....DUmmies!
Just like some men I unfortunatly have known, brings you to the brink, then says, uh oh! I'm done, be back in a bit. :)
You may have to do it. I'm going away from the computer for a while in a few minutes...
Uh, it's only been 15 minutes, and speed_addiction likes to give good customer service.
And you know this how? LOL
Back in an hour, place holder
You don't understand, I haven't had a cigarette in 3 weeks and this is by far, the hardest time I've had so far.
