I will second those wishes of a quick recovery if Andy is really sick, I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone. If he is ill, I hope he gets the help he needs
However, I also agree with several other's here that this newest information doesn't seem to work well with all we've learned these past few days, and I'm still curious about the money, especially considering the questions that have been raised regarding the actual cost of the procedure. I'm not saying that anyone is lying or anything like that, just that I'm waiting for more information before I make any decisions.

Occam's Razor. Andy's situation is for real, but his character is modelled after the Clintons. No concept of accountability, no ability to be forthcoming.
That is the simplest and likeliest explanation.

Don't trouble yourself -- there were an awful lot of others "not feeling right" about this whole thing.
Look at it this way: If something IS a fraudulent charity scam, it's one of the morally-worst things a person can do, and that is why it is important that charities be observed so they're proven legit.
When numerous easy-to-answer questions were raised on both DU and here, they were met with silence, or with answers that conflicted with other, earlier information.
Thus, there were excellent reasons to look into this.
So buck up, little buckaroo!

I've been lurking and following this DUFU thread for two days and my BS meter is going off. How come Andy Stephenson would get on the phone with a DUFU freeper and not with his beloved William Pitt or Skinner?
Something is fishy about these alleged "scoops" I think.
