It is the opinion of the DU Administrators that continued discussion of the Andy Stephenson situation here on Democratic Underground really serves no purpose, and is only serving to make people more angry and suspicious of each other.

He needed money for a surgery, he asked DUmmies to donate, they did. What was dishonest was "I needed the money yesterday...hurry hurry!"

He said needed money for surgery for a specific, life-threatening problem. If he has (and knew about) a less severe condition (possibly even elective), then it is fraud.

Not a Doctor but jaundice or Icterus is caused whenever bile circulates in the blood.
This can, I believe, be caused by a tumor.
